SILENT pianos are genuine acoustic pianos featuring Yamaha’s advanced mute technology. When the keys are played in SILENT mode, the hammers stop immediately before striking the strings, so that the piano itself produces no sound. Sensors installed under the keys decipher how the keys are played and transmit the data to the digital sound generator, which generates sampled sounds that can be heard through a pair of headphones. By allowing players to play a true acoustic piano sound under normal circumstances, or to put on headphones and play in SILENT mode to avoid disturbing others, SILENT Piano makes any moment a good time to sit down at the piano.

Smart Pianist

The Smart Pianist application lets you discover new ways of playing the piano. You can use it to analyze songs on your smart device and automatically generate piano scores (chord diagrams), or take advantage of intuitive features to control volume, instrument sound selection and other functions.
