From our review - "The blues guys are going crazy about the reissue of Mullard EL84. It has the least clean margin and can be pushed into distortion with aggressive play. When pushed into distortion, the Mullard EL84 tube has a softer and creamier overdrive that is more musical than other EL84 tubes and is the tube to choose if you want dirt.
The name and brand Mullard were acquired by the New Sensor Corporation. This new Mullard EL84 production tube is manufactured at their Xpo-Pul plant (also known as Reflektor) in Saratov, Russia. New Sensor is an American company and since it became the owner of this factory, the quality of the current production tubes has continued to improve.
Note: These tubes have a slightly larger diameter than other EL84 tubes, so they cannot be installed in some 90’s Marshall DSL201 or DSL401 amplifiers, some 90’s reissued Vox AC15 amps and Bad Cat amps.
