The CAE Buffer features a +6dB gain slider with Hi/Lo cutoff switches to compensate for signal loss and other features for modern playing comfort.
When you transmit your signal from your instrument to your amp via long cables and/or a wide range of effects with variable impedance, there is bound to be some signal degradation. Placing the CAE buffer in your signal chain solves this problem.
It is a low-noise buffer in a small, rugged package; it can add up to +6dB of gain with the gain slider facing forward; it compensates for the signal loss that can occur when combining effects with different impedance levels; it refines signal recovery with the Hi and Lo mute switches; it has an additional output for a tuner, separate effects chain or amp, and can be set to receive a buffered or unbuffered signal; it also has a convenient 9VDC power output jack that powers another pedal.
