The Manuel Rodríguez ECOLOGÍA series recalls the European lutherie traditions of his great-grandfathers. In those days, only the resonance wood that grew on the doorstep and was available was used. It was only much later that international trade, including that in tropical woods, supplanted the local woods that had proved their worth for decades.
The series is essentially based on these ancient traditions and is therefore ecologically up-to-date. Not a single piece of tropical wood is used. Instead, European woods such as spruce, walnut, maple and acacia are used. What's more, only a water-based eco-mat lacquer is used. This comprehensive, ecologically sustainable design clearly sets the ECOLOGÍA series apart from other guitars.
In terms of sound, the instruments, handcrafted in Europe, are moderately tuned and designed for a balanced tone. This is ensured, among other things, by the traditional dovetail neck construction, which guarantees not only great stability but also excellent vibration transmission.
A special feature of all Manuel Rodríguez 4/4 guitars is the GEWA armrest, which offers two obvious advantages: With its rounded shape, it ensures a particularly pleasant playing sensation and allows the top to vibrate freely over the entire surface, as it avoids damping. by the right arm being placed on it.
