About the product

Head to sunny Memphis and bathe in the tones of the 1950s! Studio sounds from the 50s and beyond. Small room reverb, slapback echo, futuristic double tracking. Ah, the sounds of Rock and Roll.... Clickety Clack A rhythmic and rhythmic succession of alternating clicks and clacks, like the sound produced by the wheels of a train moving on tracks. I hear this train coming Memphis Sun! The new Memphis Sun - Reverb, Echo and Double-Tracker Lo-Fi is our second studio-themed pedal. Like the Keeley 30ms ADT, this pedal gives you a multitude of sounds to capture that classic Rock-and-Roll sound as well as sounds you've never heard before. It's NeoVintage. It's an echo and reverb pedal. Switch between the different effect presets: SLAPBACK 600 - Echo for long delays SUN MODE - Automatic track doubling and slapback with short delays ROOM - Studio simulation reverb Both ECHO 600 and SUN MODE have a room reverb. This is a one knob, rock and roll room reverb. SLAPBACK 600 Rock and roll is the devil's music, right? So of course we made the delay time up to 666ms to simulate an unearthly echo machine that never really existed. The filtering in Slackback mode is done in steps. First, we heavily filter the 1 kHz response and then compress the thing. Remember the concept: pack a bunch of sound into a small room and it compresses. Then we filter it again at 1 kHz! Sounds like Rock and Roll, right? Aaron Tackett is our Rock and Roll Doctor of DSP here at Keeley. Not only is he devilishly handsome, he has a way of making waves beautiful - adding curves so to speak. He added 2nd and 3rd order harmonics to this mix to simulate the band response and distortions of the equipment. The waves folded in on themselves. You'll love his curves. Time 30-666ms m / m / Regen As Jack White says: "Three". Up to three repeats. Or sometimes six.... Old Rock-and-Roll Room Reverb. Sun mode Let's do it twice mom, it's okay! Automatic Double Tracking (ADT) wasn't available in the 1950s, but we slip it in here because it makes a wonderful sound. And, if you extend the time, it goes right into the slapback territory that is at the heart of country and rock and roll guitar sounds. Like our Keeley 30ms, this pedal will do ADT. The Memphis Sun creates a vintage double-tracked voice in mono. Your "Gemini-Twin" guitar-playin' has a very warm sound. The time control setting allows you to easily create anything from double tracking to slapback with up to 180ms of delay time. The delay time is from 0 to 180 ms. For automatic double tracking, set this control to the second mark or less, 0-30ms. For slapback echo 30-180ms sounds good. The button markers note 0, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180 ms Regeneration modulation for ADT. Set to OFF for NO Rate or Depth. Increasing this control increases both the rate and depth of the "Tape" modulation. Reverb This is still a rock and roll room reverb Room The Room Reverb simulates a small 33' x 18' asbestos tiled room so full of music that the sounds are actually compressed. We take into account the frequency response of the microphones used at the time. The RCA 77 is loosely simulated by a group of filters including a HPF = 300 Hz and LPF = 8 kHz. Many artifacts are embedded in our room reverb. And second and third order harmonics are added to make sure it sounds good. The time is the amount of pre-delay: 0-150 ms of pre-delay. This allows for a slapback sound when the first reflections are focused. Regen is the tone control: it is an active filter +/- 10 dB and is centered around 1.1 kHz. That's what I call Rockin' Robbin! NeoVintage - Low Fidelity. That's right. That's what I said. This does not sound like a merry band of pixie nymphs playing digital fiddles in your ear. It sounds great! If this pedal had a smell, it would be too intoxicating to play. The Keeley Memphis Sun - Lo-Fi Reverb, Echo and Double-Tracker
