usage-549About
For sale is a stunning example of vintage craftsmanship – a 1946 Gibson J-45 Acoustic Guitar, one of the most iconic and sought-after models in the world of acoustic guitars. This beauty boasts the rich, warm tones and exceptional playability that only a vintage Gibson can provide.
This J-45 has gone through a lot for the past 78 years, but is remained in very good shape. It has been owned and properly taken care of by the same family for decades, but now is the time to pass to a different owner who could bring it to another generation of musicians.
This J-45 has undergone a professional restoration carefully and expertly executed by renowned luthier Antoine Lacasse, whose expertise is widely respected in the world of vintage guitar restoration. Antoine Lacasse is known for his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the integrity of vintage instruments. The restoration was done with the utmost attention to period-accurate methods, preserving the guitar’s original tone and feel. The neck reset and bridge reglue were done using hide glue to maintain the instrument’s vintage authenticity. All work has been executed with respect to the era, ensuring that the guitar plays and sounds as it was intended when it left the Gibson factory nearly 80 years ago.
The guitar would benefit from a refretting in the future, though it is still a pleasure to play in its current state. We’ve chosen not to make a refretting to preserve its originality as much as possible, allowing the next owner the option to refret it according to their preference.
