Kirk’s solos are an essential part of the band’s dominant sound, and he has trusted ESP for decades to build him guitars that meet his every need. The LTD KH-V is the latest addition to Kirk Hammett’s signature series. This model is offered in three different versions: Black Sparkle finish with black hardware and pickguard; Red Sparkle finish with gold hardware and pickguard; and Metallic Gold finish with gold hardware and cream pickguard.
The KH-V features an extra-thin through-neck design (with three U-shaped maple pieces) and a limba body with 25.5-inch tuning fork. Its Macassar ebony fingerboard features wave-shaped pearl inlays and 24 extra-wide frets. The KH-V’s sound is powered by a signature set of EMG Bone Breaker pickups: ceramic model BB-B in the bridge position and BB-N with alnico 5 magnets in the neck position for crisp, crushing solos or smooth, rounded rhythms in a jiffy. The KH-V’s controls include volume, tone and a three-way pickup selector. Other professional features include TonePros through-string bridge and lockable LTD tuning machines.
